L'Antica Pizzeria da Michele Ebisu

Great woodfired pizza in a bustling eatery with friendly staff. I’ve been here a few times and have always enjoyed the pizza. Some reviewers have commented that it’s noisy - it’s true that it can get very crowded at times, so if that’s not your thing (but great pizza is) then try and go outside the rush hours. They accept card, but there was one instance I went where they asked for cash only. So (as with everywhere in Japan) it’s prudent to have cash handy.

Amazing experience!! I am from Italy and I can say is the real pizza like in Italy in good pizzeria!! I have been also in Michele in Naples 3 times and the pizza is the same, the only difference is the mozzarella that in Naples il bufala!! Good prices and awesome staff!! 🇯🇵❤️🇮🇹✌️

It’s very loud inside without much ambience, tables close together and crowded, too brightly lit like a cafeteria. I thought the waitstaff were a little rude, except a nice young man who helped cut our pizza for us (yes, the pizza came out uncut and they didn’t have a pizza cutter, just a regular knife and fork.) When they were closing up, one of the staff came to us and said CLOSED in English quite roughly even though we had been ordering in Japanese the whole time. The pizza is clearly made from good ingredients but I didn’t find it too remarkable. It’s only notable because Japan lacks good pizza. I found the crust too soft? Almost floppy? Maybe I’m a barbaric American but I think thin crust should be closer to crisp. We were a group of five and had three pizzas plus a salad.
